Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Feeds on plant juices from over 200 species of plants, particularly clover, grasses, and ornamental flowers.

Behavior Patterns

They are most active in the spring and fall. They do not bite humans or pets but tend to migrate indoors in large numbers when plant life dries up or weather changes. They leave a characteristic red stain when crushed.

Risks & Benefits

Harmless to human health as they do not transmit disease or bite. Primarily considered a nuisance pest because they can stain furniture, carpets, and curtains red if crushed.
