Size: Larvae grow to be about 4-5 mm (0.15–0.20 inches) in length.

Natural Habitat
Found indoors in dark, undisturbed areas like closets, under furniture, in carpets, baseboards, and storage boxes. In nature, they live in bird nests or bee hives.
Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on natural animal fibers such as wool, fur, silk, leather, feathers, pet hair, and dead insects. Adults feed on pollen and nectar.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae are photophobic (avoid light) and prefer to hide in dark crevices. They move slowly and may curl up when disturbed. They are often synonymous with finding small holes in clothing.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Larvae are significant household pests that damage clothing, carpets, and upholstery made of natural fibers. Their bristly hairs can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions (dermatitis) in sensitive individuals. They do not bite or spread disease.
