Primarily nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo simple metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and can survive for months without a meal.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy welts, skin irritation, and psychological stress. While they do not transmit diseases, infestations are difficult to eradicate and can spread rapidly through luggage and secondhand furniture.
