Active year-round in indoor environments; they do not fly and are often nocturnal. They reproduce rapidly in humid conditions and can survive on very small amounts of organic material.

Harmless to humans and pets as they do not bite or transmit disease; however, large infestations can contaminate stored food products and damage old book bindings or paper goods.
