Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They go through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt between each stage.
Risks & Benefits
A significant public health pest that causes itchy bites, sleep deprivation, and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases to humans, they cause significant economic impact and infestations are difficult to eradicate.
