Broad-nosed Weevil or Grain Weevil

Found indoors in pantries, kitchens, and grain storage areas, or outdoors in fields, gardens, and leaf litter.

Primarily feed on stored grains, seeds, plant matter, and occasionally agricultural crops.

They are typically slow-moving beetles that may play dead when disturbed. Females chew into grains or seeds to deposit eggs, where the larvae develop internally.

They pose no direct health risk to humans or pets and do not bite, but certain species can become nuisance pantry pests that contaminate stored dry foods.
