Diet & Feeding

Dissolved skin cells and extracellular fluid.

Behavior Patterns

Gravid females burrow into the stratum corneum of the skin to lay eggs. They are microscopic and typically spread through prolonged direct skin-to-skin contact.

Risks & Benefits

Causes Scabies, characterized by intense itching and a pimple-like rash. Risks include secondary bacterial infections from scratching. There are no known ecological benefits for humans.
