Behavior Patterns
The larvae live within gelatinous films in drains; after finishing their larval stage, they pupate and emerge as small, fuzzy adult flies often called moth flies.
Risks & Benefits
They do not bite or sting and are generally harmless to humans, but their presence can indicate a build-up of organic waste or standing water that needs cleaning.
