Green Lacewing Larva (Junk Bug)

Gardens, agricultural fields, and wooded areas where aphids are present.

Carnivorous; primarily eats aphids, mealybugs, thrips, and other small soft-bodied insects.

Known as junk bugs because they often camouflage themselves by piling debris and the husks of their prey onto their backs. They are highly active hunters.

Extremely beneficial to ecosystems and gardeners as biological pest control; however, they can occasionally nip at human skin if handled, causing minor irritation.
