Size: Adults: 4–5 mm long (about the size of an apple seed); Nymphs: 1.5–3 mm.

Natural Habitat
Almost exclusively found in human dwellings, typically hiding in tight crevices near sleeping areas such as mattress seams, box springs, headboards, and baseboards.
Diet & Feeding
Hematophagous (blood-feeder), feeding primarily on human blood, typically at night while the host is sleeping.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive. They aggregate in hidden crevices during use pheromones to communicate. They go through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt to the next stage.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Their bites cause itchy red welts, allergic reactions, anxiety, and insomnia. They are not known to transmit disease but are significant nuisance pests and difficult to eradicate. Benefits: None.
