Size: 4 to 5 mm (adults), roughly the size of an apple seed

Natural Habitat
Human dwellings, specifically cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and headboards
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages (blood-feeders), primarily feeding on human blood, usually at night
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, elusive, and photophobic. They undergo hemimetabolous metamorphosis (egg, nymphal stages, adult) and require a blood meal to molt into each successive stage.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy allergic reactions to bites, skin rashes, and psychological distress. While they do not transmit diseases, heavy infestations can occasionally cause anemia. They provide no known ecosystem benefits in human environments.
