Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal; they emerge from hiding at night to feed and can live for several months without food. Their life cycle includes five nymphal stages that each require a blood meal to molt.
Risks & Benefits
They do not transmit diseases but their bites can cause itchy skin reactions or allergic responses. Infestations are a significant nuisance and can lead to anxiety, insomnia, and secondary skin infections from scratching.
