Bed bug

Often found indoors and in close proximity to human sleeping areas such as mattresses, box springs, headboards, and furniture crevices.

Obligate blood feeders, primarily targeting humans but also feeding on other warm-blooded animals such as poultry and pets.

Mainly nocturnal; they emerge from hiding at night to feed and can live for several months without food. Their life cycle includes five nymphal stages that each require a blood meal to molt.

They do not transmit diseases but their bites can cause itchy skin reactions or allergic responses. Infestations are a significant nuisance and can lead to anxiety, insomnia, and secondary skin infections from scratching.
