Natural Habitat
Commonly found in residential homes, hotels, and crowded spaces, especially in cracks, crevices, bed frames, and mattresses.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, primarily feeding on human blood, usually at night.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, elusive, and photophobic. They undergo hemimetabolous metamorphosis and can survive for months without a blood meal.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin rashes, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They are not known to transmit diseases but are a significant nuisance pest.
