Natural Habitat
Commonly found inside homes, particularly on walls and floors in humid environments. They thrive in damp, shady areas.
Diet & Feeding
The larvae feed on spider webs, wool, hair, and various natural fibers including discarded insect parts.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a protective spindle-shaped case from silk, sand, and dust. It can move by poking its head out from either end and pulling itself along surfaces.
Risks & Benefits
Primarily a domestic nuisance. While they do not bite humans, they can potentially damage natural fiber fabrics, carpets, and clothes.
