Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal insects that emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal between each stage.
Risks & Benefits
Significant public health pests causing itchy welts, psychological distress, and potential allergic reactions. They are not known to transmit diseases but are extremely difficult to eradicate once an infestation is established.
