Behavior Patterns
Larvae are scavenging pests that move slowly and avoid light. They undergo a complete metamorphosis with long larval stages that can last several months to over a year.
Risks & Benefits
Larvae can cause significant damage to household fabrics and stored goods. Their shed hairs can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. They do not bite humans.
