Natural Habitat
Leaves and stems of various trees and shrubs, including oak, sycamore, and azaleas.
Diet & Feeding
Plant sap from the undersides of leaves, causing "stippling" (a series of tiny pale spots).
Behavior Patterns
Nymphs and adults typically live on the underside of leaves; they are most active in late spring and summer. They lay eggs along the leaf veins.
Risks & Benefits
Generally considered a landscape pest that causes aesthetic damage to plants; they do not bite humans or transmit diseases.
