Case-bearing Clothes Moth (larval case)

Indoor environments, particularly closets, storage areas, and rooms with natural fiber carpets or furniture

Larvae feed on keratin-containing animal products such as wool, fur, feathers, silk, and felt

The larva constructs a protective silk case covered with fibers from the material it is eating; it carries this case with it as it moves and eventually pupates inside it

Significant pest of textiles and household goods; can cause extensive damage to clothing, upholstery, and heirlooms, but poses no direct health risk to humans
