Bed Bug

Human dwellings, specifically in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and headboards.

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Mainly nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They are attracted to the carbon dioxide and heat emitted by hosts. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. There are no ecological benefits to their presence in human homes.
