Natural Habitat

Human dwellings, primarily in cracks and crevices of beds, upholstered furniture, and floorboards.

Diet & Feeding

Hematophagous (obligate blood-feeders), primarily feeding on human blood during the night.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and secretive; they hide during the day and are attracted to the warmth and CO2 emitted by sleeping hosts. They undergo five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt at each stage.
