Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and secretive; they hide during the day and are attracted to the warmth and CO2 emitted by sleeping hosts. They undergo five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt at each stage.

Risks: Can cause itchy, red welts, psychological distress, and allergic reactions. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. Benefits: None.
