Behavior Patterns
Known for a forked tail-like appendage called a furcula used to catapult themselves into the air to jump away from predators. They are non-winged hexapods that require moisture to survive.
Risks & Benefits
Harmless to humans, pets, and structures. They are beneficial to ecosystems as decomposers that help recycle nutrients into the soil; however, they can be nuisance pests indoors if moisture levels are high.
