Natural Habitat

In tropical and subtropical regions, they live outdoors in soil or under bark. In temperate regions, they are common indoor pests nesting in wall voids, behind baseboards, and in potted plants.

Diet & Feeding

They prefer sweets and honeydew produced by aphids or mealybugs, but will also eat protein and grease.

Behavior Patterns

They are highly mobile and frequently change nest locations. They are known for their erratic, rapid movements when disturbed. They form large, multi-queen colonies.
