Asian Lady Beetle

Found globally in many habitats including gardens, agricultural fields, and deciduous forests; frequently enters homes during winter.

Primarily carnivorous, feeding on aphids, scale insects, and other soft-bodied garden pests; occasionally eats fruit or pollen.

Known for aggregating in large numbers on sun-facing walls and indoors during autumn. They undergo complete metamorphosis from larvae to pupae to winged adults.

Benefits the ecosystem by controlling aphid populations. However, they can be a nuisance pest indoors, secrete a foul-smelling yellow fluid when threatened, and can cause minor allergic reactions or occasional bites in humans.
