Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Feeds on a wide variety of dry stored food products including grains, cereals, pasta, nuts, dried fruits, pet food, and spices. It cannot attack whole sound grains, but feeds on broken kernels or processed products.
Behavior Patterns
Adults are long-lived (6-10 months) and can produce several generations per year under optimal conditions. They are active and can quickly move between food sources. Females lay eggs directly on food, and larvae develop within the food product. They are not strong flyers but can disperse quickly through crawling or transport in infested goods.
Risks & Benefits
