Diet & Feeding

Carnivorous; hunts insects and other small spiders by chasing them down rather than using a web.

Behavior Patterns

Solitary, nocturnal hunters with excellent eyesight. Females are known for carrying their egg sacs attached to their spinnerets and carrying spiderlings on their backs after they hatch.

Risks & Benefits

Generally beneficial as they control pest insect populations. They are not aggressive towards humans and their venom is not considered medically significant, though a bite may cause mild irritation or swelling.
