Size: 1mm to 7mm (approximately the size of an apple seed when adult)

Natural Habitat
Found globally in human dwellings, primarily in crack and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, box springs, and bed frames.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagous (blood-feeders), primarily targeting humans but will feed on other warm-blooded animals if necessary.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal to molt to the next stage.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, anxiety, and insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are considered significant household pests that are difficult to eradicate.
