Natural Habitat

Found in human dwellings, typically on mattresses, bed frames, box springs, and behind wallpaper or baseboards near sleeping areas.

Diet & Feeding

The source organism (Bed Bug) feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Behavior Patterns

The droppings appear as dark, ink-like stains that smear when wiped with a damp cloth. They are deposited after a bed bug digests a blood meal. Bed bugs are nocturnal and hide during the day in tight crevices.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include physical evidence of a bed bug infestation which can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They do not transmit diseases but are a significant pest nuisance. There are no ecological benefits to humans.
