Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Behavior Patterns
Active during the day (diurnal), they are known for 'puddling' where large groups gather on damp mud to drink minerals. They have multiple generations per year and overwinter as larvae.
Risks & Benefits
Benefits the ecosystem as an important pollinator; larvae can sometimes be minor agricultural pests in legume crops but are generally not a serious threat.
