Pill Bug (Sowbug)

Moist, dark environments such as under rocks, logs, leaf litter, and mulch.

Decomposing organic matter, rotting wood, and occasionally young plant roots or seedlings.

Nocturnal scavengers that roll into a tight ball (conglobation) when threatened to protect their soft undersides.

Harmless to humans; beneficial to the ecosystem as decomposers that recycle nutrients back into the soil.
