Behavior Patterns
The larvae are slow-moving and prefer dark, undisturbed areas. They undergo several molts, leaving behind characteristic brown, bristly shed skins.
Risks & Benefits
Can cause significant damage to household fabrics and textiles. The larval hairs (setae) can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some individuals; they do not bite humans.
