Feeds on plant juices, seeds, and weed sap using piercing-sucking mouthparts

Often forms large swarms in warm weather; highly active ground dwellers that migrate when weed hosts dry out

Harmless to humans; can occasionally be a minor agricultural pest to crops when present in very large populations
