If biological (like a skin flake), it is inanimate. If a skin dwelling organism was suspected, they typically feed on sebum or skin oils.

Stationary. The object lacks identifiable anatomical features of an insect (antennae, legs, segmentation), suggesting it is a flake of skin, dried resin, or food crumb.

No inherent risks as an organism. However, the presence of many skin flakes can provide a food source for dust mites, which can trigger allergies.
