Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal pests that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They are attracted to carbon dioxide and body heat. They go through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt at each stage.

Risk: Causes itchy bites and allergic reactions. Infestations can lead to significant psychological distress, insomnia, and secondary skin infections from scratching. They are extremely difficult to eradicate once established. Benefits: None.
