Behavior Patterns
Larvae spin silk webbing over the surface of their food source as they feed. They often crawl away from the food source to walls or ceilings to pupate in a cocoon.
Risks & Benefits
Major household pest. They contaminate food with silk webbing, frass (droppings), and cast skins, making it unfit for human consumption, though they do not transmit diseases.
