Natural Habitat
Commonly found indoors in homes, specifically in carpets, closets, under furniture, and near baseboards. Outdoors, they are found in bird nests and hive boxes.
Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on natural fibers and organic material, including wool, silk, fur, feathers, hair, dried plant products, and dead insects. Adults feed on pollen and nectar.
Behavior Patterns
Larvae prefer dark, undisturbed areas where they can feed on accumulated lint or natural fibers. They move relatively slowly and are often discovered when moving on walls or sills. They undergo complete metamorphosis.
