Diet & Feeding

Feeds on spiderwebs, wool, hair, silk, and fragments of dead insects.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a spindle-shaped silk case covered in sand, dust, and fibers for protection. It can move by poking its head and legs out of either end of the case.

Risks & Benefits

Generally harmless to humans but can be a minor pest by damaging natural fiber textiles and creating unsightly silk cases on walls.
