Size: 4 to 5 mm long (adults), roughly the size of an apple seed.

Natural Habitat
Human dwellings, specifically in cracks, crevices, mattress seams, bed frames, and furniture near sleeping areas.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagous (blood-feeders), primarily feeding on human blood, usually at night.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and are attracted to the carbon dioxide and warmth produced by sleeping hosts. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Causes itchy bites and potential allergic reactions; can cause significant psychological distress and insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. Benefits: None to humans or the domestic ecosystem.
