Bed Bug

Inhabits human dwellings, specifically in cracks, crevices, upholstery, and seams of bedding and mattresses.

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal insects that emerge at night to feed. They go through five nymph stages and require a blood meal before each molt. They are highly resilient and can survive months without feeding.

Risks: Causes itchy bites and potential allergic reactions; can lead to secondary skin infections and significant psychological distress/anxiety. They do not typically transmit diseases. Benefits: None.
