Carpet Beetle Larva

Found indoors in dark, undisturbed areas such as under furniture, behind baseboards, and in closets where natural fibers are present.

Scavengers that feed on organic materials such as wool, silk, fur, feathers, pet hair, dead insects, and dried food products.

They are slow-moving and avoid light; the larvae period can last several months to over a year before they pupate and emerge as adult beetles.

Potential pests that can cause significant damage to household fabrics and textiles; their bristly hairs can also cause 'carpet beetle dermatitis' (skin irritation or allergic reactions) in some humans.
