Behavior Patterns

Larvae construct a portable, silken tube or case incorporating bits of the material they are eating. They carry this case with them as they feed and eventually pupate inside it.

Risks & Benefits

Significant household pest that causes damage to clothing, carpets, and upholstery. They pose no direct health risk to humans but can destroy expensive natural textiles.
