Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages (blood-eaters), primarily feeding on human blood.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal to molt at each life stage.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress/insomnia. While they do not transmit disease pathogens to humans, infestations are difficult and expensive to eradicate. They provide no known ecological benefits to human environments.
