Behavior Patterns

They live and lay eggs (nits) in the seams of clothing and only move to the skin to feed. They move by crawling; they cannot jump, hop, or fly.

Risks include physical irritation, intense itching, and potential allergic reactions. They are significant vectors for several serious diseases, including epidemic typhus, trench fever, and louse-borne relapsing fever. There are no ecological benefits to humans.
