Case-bearing Clothes Moth larva

Indoors in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, drawers, attics, and carpets where animal-based fibers are stored.

Keratin-rich organic materials including wool, feathers, fur, hair, silk, and occasionally soiled cotton or synthetic blends.

The larva constructs and constantly carries a portable cylindrical case made from silk and bits of the fabric it feeds on, retreating inside when disturbed.

Risks include damaging valuable clothing, carpets, and fabrics made of natural animal fibers. They provide no significant direct benefits in indoor domestic environments.
