Booklouse

Indoor environments such as damp areas, libraries, pantries, and around wooden structures where high humidity is present.

Molds, fungi, starchy materials, paper glue, and book bindings.

They are wingless, move quickly when disturbed, and thrive in humid, undisturbed conditions. They reproduce rapidly under favorable conditions.

Risks include damaging books, wallpaper, and stored dry goods in high numbers. They do not bite humans or transmit diseases and are generally harmless annoyances rather than structural pests.
