Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Adults feed on nectar from flowers; larvae are parasitic and feed on tarantulas paralyzed by the mother wasp.
Behavior Patterns
Solitary hunters; females capture tarantulas, paralyze them with a sting, drag them to a burrow, and lay a single egg on the spider. They are known for their striking aposematic coloration (blue-black bodies with bright orange wings).
Risks & Benefits
