Warm, humid indoor environments such as kitchens, bathrooms, and food storage areas.

Omnivorous scavenger; feeds on food scraps, grease, starches, glue, and even toothpaste.

Nocturnal and highly gregarious. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and are active runners that prefer dark cracks and crevices.

Persistent indoor pest. Risks include the spread of pathogens, contamination of food surfaces, and triggering of asthma or allergies in humans.
