Casebearing Clothes Moth Larva (or Household Casebearer)

Indoor environments including homes, closets, pantries, walls, and storage areas containing organic fibers or debris.

Feeds on natural fibers containing keratin such as wool, feathers, fur, silk, hair, as well as dead insects, lint, and spider webs.

The larva constructs a portable protective case or silk sleeve out of silk and gathered debris (sand, fiber, lint). It moves around dragging its case along walls or floors and pupates inside it.

Harmless to humans and pets, as it does not bite or sting. However, it can cause damage to natural fiber clothing, carpets, tapestries, and upholstered furniture.
