Broad-nosed Weevil

Gardens, woodlands, and inside homes after being brought in on plants or seeking shelter from weather.

Adults eat plant leaves (creating characteristic notches), while larvae feed on plant roots.

They are nocturnal feeders and are mostly flightless. They often play dead when disturbed.

They are a major pest for ornamental plants and berries, but they do not pose a direct health risk or bite humans.
