Behavior Patterns
Diurnal insects known for a slow flight pattern with a loud buzzing sound. They are famous for entering homes in large numbers during autumn to overwinter. Note: The yellow spots on this individual are tachinid fly eggs, which are parasites.
Risks & Benefits
Harmless to humans and pets, though they may emit a pungent odor if threatened. They are considered minor pests in forestry due to seed damage but are primarily a nuisance when invading homes.
