Kudzu Bug

Fields, gardens, and woodlands with leguminous plants; often found on exterior walls of light-colored structures during autumn.

Herbivorous; feeds on the sap of leguminous plants, particularly kudzu vines and soybeans.

Diurnal and highly gregarious; they overwinter as adults in protected areas like leaf litter or inside buildings. They emit a foul-smelling liquid when threatened.

An agricultural pest that can significantly reduce soybean yields. They carry no diseases but can cause skin irritation or staining of fabrics due to their defensive secretions.
